Yum! Add a little cumin and garlic powder, use pre-made meatballs, and give yourself more like 45 minutes to let it simmer, and you got yourself one easy and delicious meal. I think I'll add another potato next time. THANKS!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
Good, but a little bland as written. After tasting I added garlic powder, dried thyme, and a can of corn. I also sauteed the onion before adding it and left out the celery since I didn't have any. Used half and half instead of milk because I was hoping for a really thick soup and ending up mashing about half the potatoes to add more thickness to the soup as well. Ok, I guess I changed it a lot, but the end result was really good.

Blueberry Breakfast Sauce

Followed the recipe, only adding a little lemon juice. Really really yummy. We could have eaten this with a spoon, and very much enjoyed it in crepes.

Dessert Crepes

So good! only change I made was to add 1.5 tsp of vanilla. I used a very small amount of butter spray on my non-stick frying pan and I didn't have any problems with the crepes sticking. We ate these with Blueberry Breakfast Sauce from this site also and just loved them!

Waldorf Salad II

I really loved this and so did everyone at the picnic. I subbed a cup of grapes for the raisins and used only 1/3 cup of mayonnaise and thought it was fantastic.

Sesame Pasta Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2009
This was so good! I had to replace the rice vinegar with apple cider vinegar because that was all I had, and I left out the cilantro and added peas and julienned carrots. I also used only 1/3 cup of olive oil instead of the half cup of veggie oil. I really loved it and will definitely make it again.

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2009
This was great when I ran out of taco seasoning and didn't have time to go to the store. I cut back on the black pepper and added some flour to it. My family really liked it, and I'll be using it again.

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2009
My husband and I really enjoyed this. This only change I made was using dried rosemary as that was all I had. Oh and I probably didn't marinate them for the entire half hour as we were rushed, but they still tasted great. We liked to dip them in a little ranch to bring out the ranch flavor more. We'll definately be eating these again - tasty and easy, my kind of meal!

Belles Hamburger Buns

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
I and my family thought these were great! The only difference we made was letting the yeast prep in the water/milk first and then adding the flour and salt slowly, a cup at a time until it was a good mix. And I forgot the egg wash. But they were really good - it was nice not to have to rush to the store just because we needed hamburger buns.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
I didn't make the cinnamon chips, but both my husband and I really loved the fruit salsa. I played around with the amounts of the fruits to get it where we liked it and used raspberry jam. We ate it on top of sopapillas, and when the sopapillas were all gone, my hubby ate it with a spoon! Next time I want to try adding some watermelon and pineapple, but I was in a hurry last night, so it didn't happen.

Real Sopapillas

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
This worked out wonderful for my husband and I. I halved the recipe, and the only change I made was adding 2 teaspoons of white sugar. Even though it was halved, I actually only ended up using half the dough and the other half is in my fridge. Hopefully it'll work out just fine when I make them again with the refridgerated dough. This was a perfect end to our Cinco de Mayo celebration. Thanks!

Parmesan Potatoes

Very good! I did add garlic powder and onion powder, and used more parmesan. I actually used a little too much parmesan and will tone it down next time. But they were still delicious!

Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2009
This was a great recipe to start with, but I feel it would have been kind of blah without some of the changes I made, suggested by other reviewers: Sauted onions and minced garlic with the chicken, and added lots more salsa than called for. I also ended up adding some cumin and chili powder when I tasted it after simmering and decided it still needed something. Oh, and I used the liquid from the corn and black beans instead of adding water, and added a can of green chilis. My husband wasn't a fan of the tortilla chips on top, he said he would prefer the whole mixture wrapped up enchilada style and baked. I think I'll try that next time.

Delicious Egg Salad for Sandwiches

I was really in the mood for an egg salad sandwich. This really hit the spot. My only complaint was that it was a little plain. I did add some dill weed and I liked that.

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2009
These ended up really great, but I wish I'd read reviews before I started them. I prepared them exactly as the recipe states, but next time I'm adding the flour in last and not all at once, because it was definintely too much flour, and it wasn't very smooth at all. I think adding the flour at the end would make it more smooth. But it did end up working out, just really hard to knead, and took a lot longer to rise as well. Tasted great though, and when my husband and I finished them all, I wished I had made the whole batch and not just half a batch. Oh, we did boil the water before dunking the pretzels in, everything I've heard about pretzels before says that's the way to do it. I also used olive oil rather than veggie oil, presonal prefrence. Anyway, thanks for the recipe, though I am going to tweak it next time I make it.

Nacho Cheese Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2009
This really wasn't anything fantastic. It worked for dipping pretzels, but I didn't really like the taste - I did have to use medium cheddar cheese instead of the american slices, as that was all I had. Probably made a big difference.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2009
This was really good! Following others reviews, I subbed half cup applesauce for half the oil, and brown sugar for the half the white. I also did three cups of zucchini, and I forgot the walnuts (that made me sad). My husband and I ate half a loaf by ourselves last night at 9:30 when it finally came out of the oven (it took me 70 minutes until they were done, but that's probably because my bread pans are a little larger, 8.5 x 4.5). Totally recommend this recipe!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2008
This tasted really yummy. I took other reviewers' advice and upped the spices a little and substituted applesauce for oil. I think I cooked them a little too long (just over 15 minutes for mini muffins) so next time I'll bake them for less time. I might add a little more applesauce too, to make them a little more moist. Thanks for a great recipe!

Baked Spaghetti I

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2008
This was really good! I was pleasantly surprised, and my husband and daughter liked it as well. I left out the green pepper as I'm not a fan at all, and I did do half ground beef, half ground sausage, and added some eatra seasonings, including garlic and fennel. I was a little worried about the spaghetti being dry, so I added a little extra milk to the cream of mushroom soup, and added that to the noodles in two layers, rather than just all on top. I really liked the way the soup made it taste. I'll definately be adding this to my monthly family dinners. I think next time I'll try it with fresh mushrooms.
