About this Cook
I never used to cook until I got to college and met my now husband. When we were dating he would cook dinners all the time and I thought that was great because I was living on string cheese and box pizzas. He started teaching me to cook, and now that we've been married a year and a half, I do almost all the cooking. I love it!
My favorite things to cook
I have a lot of fun making dinner every night. It's probably my favorite part of the day. I like food! It's so cool to me to start out with all these seperate ingredients and put them together in just the right way and come out with something new. I like trying new recipes and feeling confident enough to tweak them and make them my own.
My cooking triumphs
Dinner rolls. I used to be so scared of making them, but now they are one of my favorite things to make because I know what I'm doing and they turn out great and my husband and I can't stop eating them. Also, anything that I've never tried before that turns out great, my latest triumphs being chili, stew, and white chocolate chip macadamia nut cookies.
My cooking tragedies
Fortunately I haven't completely bombed anything yet (knock on wood) but I'm really hard on myself when something isn't as good as I was expecting. The last few times that happened was with banana bread, oatmeal cookies, and swedish meatballs. I thought the meatballs were really hard because you can't really taste them as you're making them, you have to wait until they're cooked. I guess I'll just have to keep making them to get them just right.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup
Good, but a little bland as written. After tasting I added garlic powder, dried thyme, and a can of corn. I also sauteed the onion before adding it and left out the celery since I didn't have any. Used half and half instead of milk because I was hoping for a really thick soup and ending up mashing about half the potatoes to add more thickness to the soup as well. Ok, I guess I changed it a lot, but the end result was really good.

Blueberry Breakfast Sauce
Followed the recipe, only adding a little lemon juice. Really really yummy. We could have eaten this with a spoon, and very much enjoyed it in crepes.

Dessert Crepes
So good! only change I made was to add 1.5 tsp of vanilla. I used a very small amount of butter spray on my non-stick frying pan and I didn't have any problems with the crepes sticking. We ate these with Blueberry Breakfast Sauce from this site also and just loved them!
