I've been cooking for my family since I was about 12, and since I wanted to serve my country, and pay for cooking school, in addition to getting a little experience, I joined the Coast Guard, and have been cooking with them on a ship out of Alameda since August of 2006.

Thai food, Indian food, Tex-mex. . . (I love me some queso!)
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandma's chicken and dumplings recipe is probably my favorite thing to cook for my crew, since when you're underway, it's a nice reminder of home.
My cooking triumphs
You name it, I've done it. LOL. I helped my sister make a groom's cake for a friend of ours shaped as a lifesize duplica of his gibson les paul. It was awesome, and so pretty, no one wanted to be the one to take the first piece.
My cooking tragedies
Not too many of those. I've been cooking so long, I know how to fix just about anything before it gets too bad.
