I'm 24, puertorrican and married to a NAVY sailor. I have a beautiful 16 month old boy and I'm a stay at home mom. I have a Bachelors in Office Administration and my short term goal is to attend Culinary School.
My favorite things to cook
Puertorrican food. Lately I'm doing alot of baking (cookies, cake, pies). I would love to make a living out of cooking but I'm still no expert.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Although my family used to have a restaurant, in my house they didn't cook! We always ate out. So, I don't have any family tradition related to food. When I started college the only thing I could make was eggs and macarroni. But then I started watching the Food Channel and I fell in love with cooking. When I got married was when I started cooking and I learned really fast. Maybe some day I would have a family tradition to carry on for generations.
My cooking triumphs
I did my friend's surprise B-day party all by myself. All the cooking and decoration. I made 3 or 4 different appetizers, a beef and chicken taco bar and 3 different types of cupcakes. Noone believe that I had done it all by myself and that it was home-made...not from a box. I was so happy to see pleople enjoying my food...it was a success.
My cooking tragedies
I always, always burn the bread!!!
