About this Cook
I'm 38 and married to the most WONDERFUL man on earth...(although he is a picky eater) My son who is 18 is my life...(not too much of a picky eater) Me? I like just about ANYTHING! I love to garden growing mainly plum tomatoes, lettuce, spinach, squash, zuchini, eggplant, and many different kinds of herbs. There is nothing like seeing that hard work pay off and being able to go out into your own backyard and pick your own homegrown veggies and herbs...except going for a weekend drive in the summer and buying them fresh from the farm.
My favorite things to cook
Where to begin! I have sooo many faves! Salmon on the grill or baked in the oven, Lobster- an absolute FAVE!, Shrimp, Cod, Sole, Flounder, Chicken and Turkey. I'm not eating red meat anymore for several different reasons, the first being that it is not good for you at all and because of PETA videos I've seen... yes, I said PETA. Everyone should go to thatwebsite and view the videos.. but you might not EVER eat ANY kind of meat again! VEGGIES! I LOVE VEGETABLES... just about all kinds. My faves are Spinach, Asparagus, and Portabello mushrooms. I've been trying to incorporate more vegetarian meals into my diet.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I make a wonderful Pork roast that I learned how to make from my beautiful mother (she passed away November 4th 2007).Bless her sweet heart. She taught me many wonderful recipes.

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way
STUPENDOUS! Mine & my family's taste buds were in HEAVEN! =0 ) I followed the directions as written. Then I added a bayleaf to the bottom of the pan. I grated 1/4 of a sweet onion and also placed that under the skin with the butter. I sliced the rest of the onion & inserted that into the cavity with rosemary and 1/4 cup of white wine. The results were absolutely AMAZING! And what a FABULOUS taste the pan gravy had!

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup
I rated 5 stars because it TRULY IS the BEST! Creamy, rich, filling and flavorful= as long as you add celery-3 stalks chopped, 1/2 onion- grated, & carrots- grated) I threw in 1/2 tsp of minced garlic. SAUTEE all together till soft. I also cooked the rice seperately till al dente & saved the seasoning packet top add to the soup mixture later. ABSOLUTEWLY THE BEST CREAMY CHICKEN & WILD RICE SOUP I'VE EVER TASTED. It will be hard NOT to make this EVERY week! =')
