About this Cook
Im 23 years old and have a loving boyfriend that I have been with for over 7 years. Im a HUGE animal lover and we have 2 cats and 1 dog. Ive lived in Indiana my entire life. I love living out in the country and I like to do anything fun like going to parks, camping, fishing, four wheeling, etc. And of course I love to cook! I get bored making the same things over and over again. Almost every other day Im looking in my cookbooks and on the internet for new ideas to make that week. Ive gathered a very delicious library of recipes.
My favorite things to cook
I like to cook all kinds of different things as long as I have the ingredients on hand. I would have to say I love making new pasta and chicken dishes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I dont know if I have any traditions. But I do know that my mother is a great cook and she is the one that taught me. I remember when I was really little and I would always make tuna salad. The good kind with all the extra ingredients in it like relish, mayo, mustard, eggs, onion, and celery. I would say I was about 5 or 6 years old then.
My cooking triumphs
If it turned out to be good than thats a triumph for me! I cant think of anything right now specifically that was a triumph because I normally try to stick to recipes where I know I can do it and that the ingredients will go well together. Just recently I have to say I just made some excellent baby back ribs. I never would attempt to make them since their a more expensive food and I was always afraid they would turn out dry and I would of wasted all that money. I have to say I am no longer afraid to make ribs because they turned out just as good as the restaurants that Ive had them at.
My cooking tragedies
I havent had any tragedies lately that I can think of. The one thing I can think of is a few years ago when I went on a kick to try to make breads and pizza doughs. None of them turned out good at all. They was rubbery or didnt rise or something.

Chili Dog Casserole I
I made this last night and it was pretty good. This is the same ingredients that I use when making chili dogs, so its great to incorporate it into a casserole dish. Next time I will toast my buns first. They got a little soggy after baking. Also if you can get skyline brand(Cincinnati style) chili where you live, I highly recommend it for this. And dont use the canned, use the frozen, or make it yourself! The canned always leaves the chili with a tin flavor, yuck. Overall this was a super fast and easy meal. This can be very versatile by adding different ingredients to it. I think next time it would be good to add in some rotel tomatoes! Oh yeh, by the way, I added chili cheese fritos on top to give it some crunch. They made the whole recipe! I will make again for sure, thanks!

Fish Tacos with Honey-Cumin Cilantro Slaw and Chipotle Mayo
This was a very good fish taco. I loved the slaw on top of the fish! Okay I did do some things differently. I didnt use the breading, I had some cajun breading in a bag that I needed to use. So I used that and baked the fish instead of frying. Also I marinated the fish in the honey-cumin sauce instead of just the lime juice. I had extra honey-cumin sauce set to the side to brush on the fish after it came out of the oven. But I forgot all about it! So next time Im going to have to remember to do that. Also I only used a half of a chipotle in the mayo mixture, and half the adobo sauce. It was more than enough for the spice. I served mine on a flour tortilla with the fish, a little shredded cheese, tomatoes, and lots of crunchy slaw on top. By the way, I used broccoli slaw, yummy! This is a great fish taco, and Im sure Ill make it again. Thanks for the recipe!

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches
This was yummy! I didnt have wing sauce. So I used straight hot sauce with butter added to tone it down a bit. I used franks, its the best! I did add a little more seasoning to it to flavor it well. I cooked on low for an hour and high for 4 hours total. It was nice and spicy! I topped our sandwiches with some melted swiss cheese. This would also be great with some crunchy coleslaw on top. Very good and versatile. I will be making this again and next time using the franks wing sauce! Thanks for the recipe!
