I have been interested in cooking since I was a small child. I have memories of watching/helping both my mother and grandmother create both our everyday meals, and also our special, delicious and complicated cultural foods. Growing up, I looked forward to a time when I had my own space in which to practice and develop my skills as a cook and, while doing so, provide my family with yummy and healthy meals! It gives a gratifying and warm feeling to see people really enjoy and love the food I cook. Aside from that, I am a busy nurse involved with other hobbies as well- fitness, volunteer work, and travling to name a few. I mainly cook for my husband and my stepdaughter- my two most devoted and encouraging fans.
My favorite things to cook
Anything- but mostly pastas, soups and stews, and vegetables.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making Avgolemono soup with my grandmother. I will never forget the countless times that I watched her so intentely, and helped her so eagerly to make this delicious family tradition.
My cooking triumphs
A triumph to me is occurs every time I try a new recipe and it is received with rave reviews, smiles, and requests for a second helping.
My cooking tragedies
When I was a kid my mother let me make up my own recipe for muffins. They were HORRIBLE. I recently found the piece of paper where I recorded the "recipe". The proportions, the description of said proportions, and the ingredients were hysterical. Back then, my brother actually asked me to make them again although to this day I dont know if he was being nice, or if he really and truly liked the taste of my bland, bizarre muffins.
