I am twenty-seven and a mother of three. I have a degree in science education, but am going back to school for nursing. My husband and children love to eat and are usually willing to try my new recipes. My uncle is a chef and owns many restaurants over seas and my brother is a chef in New York, so i am constantly calling and getting new ideas and recipes.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake, probably because I have a sweet tooth. I also like dinner recipes that aren't too time consuming. My new found passion is canning and frozen snacks, like peanut butter balls yum.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Evey fall we have apple pie Saturday and we spend a whole day making pies and cinnamon rolls. We usually end up with somewhere between 40 and 50 pies. Also Christmas morning we have cinnamon rolls. My mother-in-law loves my key lime pie and I always make it for her birthday.
My cooking triumphs
Biscuits and sausage gravy is a family recipe that I have tweaked and my family loves it on a cold winter night.
My cooking tragedies
I have to say that the spaghetti carbonara I made recently was edible, but barely. I really don't know what went wrong. I'll have to ask my brother to give me a pasta cooking lesson.
