About this Cook
I live with my wonderful boyfriend Robby, my mom Yvette, and her fiance John. We have two small dogs, possibly going on three! I'm getting more into cooking as time goes by, because my boyfriend is extremely picky but at the same time really loves food a lot. It's challenging to find new recipes that he'll like, as he tends to want to eat the same boring (albeit simple) stuff night after night. I'm currently trying to figure out something new and tasty to pack in his lunch besides sandwiches.
My favorite things to cook
Right now my cooking skills are extremely limited, so I mostly cook quick things like instant cake mixes, macaroni and cheese, grilled cheese, french toast, and eggs. I'd really like to learn to cook a lot of new stews and desserts for this coming winter; especially some nice festive holiday treats!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Oh boy, this is a tough one. My family isn't really big on cooking, but one recipe that really stands out to me is my mom's meat loaf. Hopefully someday soon she'll pass on her recipe to me, and that will be our family tradition. :)
My cooking triumphs
Haha, another toughy. I'd have to say my best cooking triumph to date is an absolutely perfect batch of peanut butter cookies that I made from scratch once. Everyone enjoyed them greatly and they were gone before I knew it. Hopefully I'll have more cooking triumphs to add in here as I find more recipes on AllRecipes.
My cooking tragedies
Plenty of them, and too many to remember right now. What comes to mind in particular is the many times I've actually managed to burn (and thus ruin) Pillsbury Cookie Dough. That's right, all I had to do was spoon them up and put them in the oven, and I've messed up not just once, but numerous times. Perhaps one day I'll look back on this as a wonderful cook and laugh? Maybe I'm just dreaming. :P
