When I first moved out on my own, I forgot all about stocking up the refrigerator. I suffered tremendously until the next paycheck. Since then food has held a special interest with me! Ha!
My favorite things to cook
Basically anything with-in my skills, finances, desire, time, and family acceptance.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Wife's annual family gaitherings ( everybody brings something!) and my mother's thanksgiving and christmas meals.
My cooking triumphs
I don't have them all memorized. My recipe collection is becoming a very large notebook. I try to fix different things once a week. The family is not so zealous about new stuff. I like 90% percent of the recipes I fix, but I consider them a success when my family & friends like'em! That is running about 75% at this time ( they do not like anything exoctic or out of the water < I love seafood! what a shame) bascially chicken & beef are the norms. My chili I guess is the oldest and most requested from my family.
My cooking tragedies
I don't remember the name, it was a lamb chop recipe off of another website ( it was also my first lamb chop recipe). I fixed it just as the directions called for, but even I, one who gladly confesses to eating anything, did not like this!! Needless to say, family & friends did not either!
