I am 33, I live in Louisiana with my husband of 13 years, we have 1 child, our miracle baby, Lily Grace (2months old) and 3 dogs, they are our other children. I used to cook/bake all of the time. I love to see people enjoying the things that I have made. I am currently a member of administration at a local Assisted Living facility, combine that with caring for an infant, husband, pets, and home, and you are left with not much time for hobbies :), however, I wouldn't change any of that! I know as my little girl grows up I will start baking/cooking more, so I am looking forward to getting back in the swing of feeding people!
My favorite things to cook
I love to make desserts, meals in the slow cooker, anything I can make, or attempt to make, I enjoy.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I can remember the women in my family getting together at my Aunt's house to bake desserts and other goodies for Thanksgiving.
My cooking triumphs
This is a funny one. After many years of enjoying my mother's cooking, her wonderful peach cobbler, I attempted my own. I made a few modifications and called them my "little secrets". It was a hit! For the next few months I was making peach cobbler until the whole family was "peached out" and I couldn't stand to smell another one!! It is time to start making them again, though.
My cooking tragedies
The first time I ever made "brown gravy". I thought it would be so easy!! I was about 17 and thought I was ready to tackle the joy of adding water to hot grease. It went up in flames...literally! But, that was only a one time tragedy. My family loves my gravy now!!
