About this Cook
My Dad had me cooking on a grill since I was 8 yrs. old.I've worked in a few restaraunts when I was younger and I've ran a barbeque house(never in fast food though).I'm just an ole' cornfed southerner that loves to cook and try new things for me and my family.
My favorite things to cook
Very, very versatile when it comes to cooking, but my barbeque is almost untouchable.I've been to one place that i thought had a better sauce on pork.(but I had him beat on the brisket though) hee hee
My favorite family cooking traditions
Southern
My cooking triumphs
There's really too many to list, well among family any ways.
My cooking tragedies
I've had my share of these too.But you can't get good at cooking if you don't at least try it first or mess things up at some point.Anybody that's done a lot of cooking has burnt something or messed up something at some point or another, other wise they haven't done too much cooking!!!

Out of this World Turkey Brine
This was absolutely fantastic.I followed the directions of the recipe and roasted turkey in oven.I usually fry or smoke my turkeys every year but this time i decided to put the turkey in an oven bag and roast it in the oven after the 2 days brining.I have already made 2 turkeys in a week and this is one of the juiciest turkeys and I can't wait to smoke one after using this brine.Thank you very much for the recipe.

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing
I grew up eating cornbread dressing and for years now been sticking with the same dressing which is great.I figured I'd try something different and decided to try this.It was only ok to me,most of my family didn't really care for it either. If you really like the taste of sausage it would be great but it seemed to me a little over bearing to me.Thanks for the recipe anyways,I did at least try it.

Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic
This is the recipe my grandmother has made for more than 25 years that i know of.We double everything except eggs and use around three cups or tad bit more of mashed sweet potatoes. We use 1/2 cup milk instead of cream and boil the potatoes and drain like regular mashed potatoes. We don't put salt and add 1/2 tsp nutmeg in with the 1/2 tsp cinnamon instead of 1 tsp cinnamon. And only 1 cup light brown sugar for the topping part(keep in mind we double this recipe) everything else is the same.I don't really even care for sweet potatoes but this right here is one of the best dishes on the table at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
