About this Cook
I love cooking for friends and family (and myself). When it comes to baking I usually bake for parties or coworkers, because otherwise I scarf down the results way too quickly!
My favorite things to cook
Lately I've been trying to cook more healthy and organic foods. I really can't stand artificial flavorings or sweeteners! I also love baking, which probably cancels out my healthy foods, but everything in balance :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom is an awesome cook and always made sure we had dinner together. Now we share recipes and ideas for the kitchen all the time.
My cooking triumphs
One of my vegetarian friends swears by my cooking! I like the challenge of putting together a meal depending on individual people's tastes. My desserts tend to receive a lot of compliments too :)
My cooking tragedies
I tried making fortune cookies with a friend in junior high, and they turned into icky, floppy, overly-almond-flavored flapjacks that wouldn't solidify into fortune cookies... I think I'll leave that recipe to the professionals.

Lemon Pepper Green Beans
Super easy! I put in lemon zest, lemon juice, and ground pepper since I didn't have any lemon pepper. It is a nice, simple side.

Spring Biscotti
I had never made biscotti before, but these turned out lovely! They would make a good gift with the white chocolate drizzled on top. yum :)

Sarah's Tofu Noodle Soup
This soup is great! I put in 10 cups of water based on other suggestions here, but 12 cups would have been just right (the egg noodles soak up a lot of the liquid). I stopped eating meat last year and now I won't even miss chicken noodle soup!
