About this Cook
I am 25 years old and have been cooking since I was about 12. My Mom worked a lot of nights so since my older sister did not cook I would experiment and cook dinner nightly. Therefore I got a lot of experience but also made a lot of mistakes in the meantime!
My favorite things to cook
Right now I love making soups! They are so easy and you can experiment so much with them! I also like to make desserts, especially Chantal's New York Cheesecake! Also I love making recipes from Paula Deen, her recipes are usually so easy and so good, I haven't found a bad one yet. Also they are great when you need to make dinner ahead of time!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving dinner! I love everything about it. It's my favorite holiday. I've told my husband I get Thanksgiving every year! I love making all the sides and trying new things for the big meal
My cooking triumphs
Making creme brulee. I used to work in a restaurant and the chefs would somehow mess up the creme brulee all the time it would either be curdle or under cooked or just not done right! So I was a little apprehensive about making it. But I finally decided to try it. I was so happy when it turned out great, that I went and brought a torch at home depot and the brulee dishes!
My cooking tragedies
The first time I cooked a cheesecake, the springform pan wasnt big enough and the cheesecake cooked over the pan all over the cookie sheet. It was cracked through the middle and just a huge mess! I've since learned and have not had that happen since!

White Chocolate Fruit Tart
I cannot say enough about the crust of this recipe I have made fruit tarts many times before and this one did not get soggy at all. I did change a few things about the white chocolate filling i did not want an overpowering white chocolate taste so I used 4 oz instead of the 10 oz I did use a high quality white chocolate so I think the 4 0z was more than enough. for the fruit I used blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, and mandarin oranges. And did not do the coating over the fruit. It looked great!

Shemakes Instant Chai Tea
Wasn't what I expected I made this to give as x-mas gifts but tried before giving and was glad I did it wasn't creamy like I would have wanted and the spices didn't really dissolve into the mixture when mixed with a water/ milk mixture.

Enchilada Sauce
I have made this recipe several times and have made afew changes I make the recipe on the stove top until right before I add the chocolate. I also add 5 cups of chicken broth instead of 4 1/2 cups. After adding the chicken broth which I add very slowly to keep a nice consistency, I add it to a crockpot with bone in skinless chicken breast and thighs, I then cook the chicken on low heat in the sauce for 10 hours, after this I take chicken out take off bone and shred, add 1/2 cup cold water mixed with flour to sauce mixture and after whisking this in to sauce, I then add chocolate to the sauce mixture, after this is done I set about 2 cups of sauce aside and then mix the rest of the sauce with the chicken meat. This is by far the best mexican style enchilada sauce that I've ever had! and it freezes and reheats nicely as well!
