Sweet Lime Iced Tea

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2009
Oh my goodness! I just saw that this recipe was published (I'm the submitter). Just an FYI - you could CERTAINLY add more/less sugar if you'd like. The amount of sugar that I indicated is just what my family & I prefer. Also, you could use more/less lime juice too :) BUT - the only thing that I'd like to emphasize is that using FRESH lime juice is so.... much better than using bottled. (There is a huge difference, in my opinion, in the flavor).

Garlic Chicken

Alrighty, this is now in our 'Favorites' binder - it is DELICIOUS, oh yeah - and super EASY!! To heat the oil/garlic - I just mixed the oil with the garlic & microwaved it for 20 seconds.

These are SO GOOD! The only change I made was to use orange juice instead of water as others suggested (nice!)...these really do stay soft FOREVER {really, they do!}

Pie Crust IV

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
This is an amazing crust!!! I used it for Grandma Ople's Apple Pie from this site. I used butter instead of shortening, and only needed about 3 T. water. Thank you for this recipe, it is my go-to crust recipe from now on. :)

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Delicious!! I used the Pie Crust IV recipe from this site (very good). The only change I made was to use 1 Tbsp. short of 1/4 c. in the sugar sauce and replace that with 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract.

Thick Cut-Outs

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
This was a great recipe - I halved the recipe (so I wouldn't have to use so many eggs), and I still was able to get a good amount out of 1 batch. I added almond extract (2 tsp.), and that really added to this. Bake for only 8 minutes - 9 min. caused some of the edges to burn. I iced them w/ 'Sugar Cookie Icing' from this site.

Six Spice Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
We all think these are fantastic!! I decreased the cumin to 1/2 tsp. and baked them at 350 for 12 minutes. 375 seemed to be too hot, because they fell quickly (did not stay the least bit 'thick'), so once I decreased the temp. to 350 - they were perfect. I love the spices in this - PERFECT! (Oh yeah, moist too!) :)

These are amazing!!! I doubled the recipe and used 1/2 white sugar & 1/2 brown sugar..I also added 1 tsp. baking soda. They needed to be baked for 9 minutes and let set on the warm pan for about 5 minutes. These turned out yummy & beautiful! Thank you. :)

Came out great - very simple and tasty. The end result was creamy, rich fudge. :) This is a lot like the recipe on the back of the Marshmallow Fluff jar, though.

Peppermint Meringues

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2008
These came out perfectly...followed recipe exactly. I see that some people add peppermint extract - don't do that, the peppermint oil can collapse the egg whites and your meringues could fall. I snipped the corner of a Ziploc bag and used that to pipe the meringues. P.S. Thought I'd add this, since I've read that some people have had difficulty crushing the candy canes: I place both candy canes (unwrapped in a ziploc bag), then place a kitchen towel over the bag & crush the candy canes with an ice crusher (using the smooth side, not the 'sharp'/'pointy' side that is used to crush ice).

This was very tasty...and I used Whiting - so whatever can get this cheap fish to taste great is a winner in my book. I used sour cream instead of mayonnaise and added oregano. Great recipe - thanks!

Chicken Soup with Adzuki Beans, Escarole, and Sweet Potato

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2008
We all LOVED this one!! I used (dry) kidney beans in place of the adzuki...and I added them in toward the middle of cooking. Also, I used a box of Uncle Ben's wild rice which I cooked in the microwave then added toward the end of cooking. This was especially good the next day.
