About this Cook
I was once an Early Childhood Education Director and College Instructor but am now staying home with my three children. I enjoy sewing, gardening, and spending time with my family playing games, crafting, riding bikes, etc...
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook just about anything from easy dishes to gourmet meals. Lately I have been spending alot of time making meals that my 2, 4, and 6 year olds can help me prepare which has been a real joy.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I grew up without cooking traditions so it has been great to instill them in my family. We enjoy spending time in the kitchen together daily and I hope to help my children gain a love and interest in cooking through our experiences together and through my enthusiasm about cooking.
My cooking triumphs
I have won several awards at local fairs for my goods and my recipes and talents are always sought after for parties and other gatherings.
My cooking tragedies
I can not make a good no bake cookie to save my life. My husband who can barely boil water makes a great no bake and I just can't get them to turn out.

Restaurant-Style Coleslaw I
This is the best coleslaw that I (and my husband) have ever had. I have made it for two large luncheons that I have put on and I have had many requests for the recipe.

Broccoli Quiche with Mashed Potato Crust
This is a lovely change from the classic pie shell quiche. I baked the crust a bit longer than written and added a bit more cheese. It was a hit with my family and at the party I took it to.

Risotto with Tomato, Corn and Basil
I made this last night to pair with sundried tomato feta and spinach stuffed chicken breasts. I used 3 chicken boullion cubes with the water but other than that made the recipe as written. This was a lovely recipe and I received rave reviews from our dinner guests.
