About this Cook
I live in Toledo with my husband of 8 years. We have 2 cats, who are our children. I enjoy cooking when I have the time, which doesn't happen often. I enjoy trying new recipes, although I am picky in my food habits.
My favorite things to cook
I don't have any specific things that are my favorite to cook, but I enjoy using my slow cooker. And I am about to enter the world of using a bread maker, and I am excited about the prospect of homemade bread!
My favorite family cooking traditions
One year I made the Thanksgiving turkey (brined!) and my family loved it, so now cooking the turkey for the holidays is my job. The rest of the family handles the sides and dessert.
My cooking triumphs
My biggest triumph would be cooking the Thanksgiving turkey for the first time. I brined it and did not stuff it, and it came out fantastic!
My cooking tragedies
Nothing comes to mind, but I'm sure there have been plenty.

Sweet-Sour Pasta Salad
The dressing in this recipe is so good, I make it to use for all types of salads, not just pasta!

Crackers a la Yvette
These were really good! I used oyster crackers and red pepper powder as I didn't have any flakes.

Garlic Carrots
My family and I loved these carrots. I found that you need to use a bit more garlic than this called for, but is it worth it!! This is my favorite cooked carrot dish!
