About this Cook
I'm more of a baker than a cook...and it's funny because my older sister is just the opposite. Put us together and you would probably have the best meal of your life! I've lived in Wisconsin my whole life, I'm married with 1 son, 2 step-sons, and one on the way (due date 5/3/08). I have always loved to cook, even when I was little I enjoyed helping out in the kitchen. Outside of cooking, I also make jewelry, and enjoy watching a good movie.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake- and desserts are definately my speciality. My in-laws call me Betty Crocker. I love to experiment with recipes and try new things when I bake.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas cookies...by far my favorite tradition. It's just something with the season and baking dozens of different cookies that makes Christmas so special.
My cooking triumphs
Being dubbed "Betty Crocker" by all of my in-laws.
My cooking tragedies
When I first got married, I tried to make homemade enchiladas for my husband (who is Mexican). Boy was that a tragedy...I learned really quick that with authentic Mexican cuisine, practice makes perfect!

Eclair Cake
This cake turned out really good, my whole family ate it up! Next time I make it, I am going to add a few more layers...I really liked the graham crackers in this recipe, and for my own personal tastes I think it would be better with more.

German Apple Cake I
The first time I made this, I told my step-son to try some and let me know how it was. He told me it was great, and I guess I should have listened to him then- because an hour later I went to get a piece, and the whole cake was gone! I did make it again, and tried it myself- this is a great cake!! It is wonderful by itself, you don't need any icings or frostings

White Chili I
Love, love, love, this recipe! This turned out better than any White Chicken Chili I've had at a restaurant. Excellent!
