Vietna(mese)-(Puerto)Rican
About this Cook
I am half Vietnamese and half Puerto-Rican so my food is typically a fusion of both cuisines. I grew up watching my mother and sister cook the most phenomenal and creative meals but I admit I'm too busy (some argue "lazy") to invest the amount of time into cooking as they do. As such, my meals are usually quick-and-easy with an Asian/Latino influence. Being married to a Dominican man has only further convoluted my recipe box :)
My favorite things to cook
One pot meals- the less dishes, the better! :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving with my family is ridiculous. We don't just do turkey. We throw in an Asian-style roast duck and Puerto Rican pernil to mix it up.
My cooking triumphs
I accidentally made the juiciest turkey ever- and now I'm surprisingly called to make it every Thanksgiving.
My cooking tragedies
Stir-fried ramen noodles? Hey! It sounded like a good idea. I was 23!!

Coquito
I typically don't like Coquito but made this recipe for my husband- I loved it! My pan did scorch however (much to my surprise)... but I don't have a double boiler. Oh well- yummy yummy!
