Easy Apple Strudel

This was very easy and very good. I may not put in raisins next time, but thought everything else made the recipe delicious. I sprinkled with coarse sugar before baking and after putting on the egg was.

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2009
I thought this was pretty good and really easy. I cut down the on hot sauce, only using 1 tsp as my kids don't like really spicy food. It almost needed some vegetables, I think next time I might add some red peppers and water chestnuts.

Garlic Brussels Sprouts

These were fantastic. I even burnt them as I was busy doing something else, they were still really tasty. Even my 15 month old was eating these. Didn't change a thing with the recipe.

Garlic Prime Rib

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
Made this for company last night. Used a 6 lb roast, so I halved the recipe. Cooked 20 minutes at 500, then almost 2 hours at 325. Used a remote meat thermometer from Williams Sononma - best invention. oooked until 135, tented with foil for 15 minutes. Would probably next time only cook until 130, would like it a little more pink. Excellent recipe.

This is a fantastic recipe. Make sure when cooling to stand the middle part of the pan on something like a wine bottle. Served with mixed berries and whipped cream.

Blueberry Cream Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
These are delicious muffins. I used low fat sour cream and they turned out just great. They made 12 very large muffins and 9 mini loaf muffins. I would also put a little more than 2 cups of blueberries next time, need to make sure that every muffin has several blueberries in them.

Banana Muffins II

Reviewed: May 5, 2009
These are fantastic muffins. I also add 1 tsp vanilla. I always make them in mini muffin tins and it makes about 36 mini muffins. My 3 year old will eat 3 or 4 of them in one sitting. This is the only banana muffin recipe I ever use. I like to use the Robin Hood Nutrigrain flour instead of regular white flour.

Tiramisu II

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
Excellent Recipe. This was my first time every making Tiramisu. I made the Lady fingers from this site instead of using store bought. However I did use store bought lady fingers for the outside so it would look like the picture. I would suggest you cream the marscapone first before adding it to the egg yolk mixture - I didn't and it found that the mixture was lumpy. I did try to whip it but I couldn't get rid of the small little lumps. I also found there was a lot of filling, Next time I would not use all of the filling. I made this for my father-in-law's birtday and he loved it - had 2 helpings.

Ladyfingers

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
These were excellent. Mine did not turn out like the picture - think my tip was too small on my pastry bag. I used these in the Tiramisu II recipe and they were excellent. I let them sit out overnight to dry out. They are even excellent on their own with coffee.

Three Meat Cannelloni Bake

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2009
With whole made pasta noodles, this dish is excellent. Maybe a little over powered with the rosemary, but still very tastly. It made 5 pans, as I only need to feed a family of 3. The pans I froze were still very tasty when baked from frozen.

Mushrooms with a Soy Sauce Glaze

Fantastic, these are the best fried mushrooms I have ever had. I cut the mushrooms into larger size slices, otherwise followed the recipe exactly. I didn't think it needed any more soy sauce.

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2009
I thought this was very good, my husband thought it was fantastic. I did add 1/2 a green pepper and only used 2 Tbsp of Chili powder. I used 2-19oz cans of kidney beans, but pureed one of them as my daughter really doesn't like beans so I find this is a good way to hide them. I let it simmer for 2 1/2 hours. Just before serving I added 1 Tbsp white wine vinegar to enhance the flavor of the beef. Will definately make this again.

Homemade Focaccia Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2009
I thought this was very good. I made it without an egg as I didn't have any. Also, I didn't really follow the instructions I made it as I was tought to make bread. I put sugar, warm water and yeast in a bowl, let it sit for 10 minutes or until if was foamy. Added the salt and oil and ~2 cups of flour and stirred with a wooden spoon. It started to pull away from the sides, so I put it on a floured surface and started kneading. I did knead for 10 minutes, flouring my hands often if I noticed the dough was sticky. Rolled it out and let it rise for 45 minutes and baked as directed. Will definately make this again.

Brown Sugar Smokies

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2009
I did as others suggested, marinated in brown sugar for a couple of hours. I also used maple bacon and added some maple syrup to the marinade. These went really fast, one of the girls ate almost a dozen of them herself. I used cheddar mini smokies, I think next time I will look for just regular smokies.
