A late bloomer cook - i am 58 yrs old and i spend a major amount of my time volunteering in the recovery (addictions) field - i have a son who is also an awesome cook - no recipes needed for him and he was well into that field way before me. My husband also likes cooking but he is more the baker - i.e. breads, cookies, cakes.
My favorite things to cook
Soups - i find i can be very creative there and its an endless arena for experimenting
dishes in sauces as well - most of all versatile chicken
My favorite family cooking traditions
potluck
My cooking triumphs
my butternut squash soup with a twist - a seafood soup with a chipotle kick (from my head)
My cooking tragedies
a stew - i mistaked red wine vinegar for red wine - thank goodness for my two personal garbage disposal men (family) This horror stew was at least 20 yrs ago and i still cringe
