Fantastic! My husband gets a little stormy when I experiment with one of his favorites and looked very cross when I told him we were trying something new. Boy, did he backtrack quickly!

Tuna Cheese Mac

Very good, with the following changes: made a roux with the butter and flour and added 3/4 c milk then added the cheese and sour cream. Changed cottage cheese for a chunk of cream cheese - sauce came out very thick and smooth. Used elbows because that's what I had. Didn't have peas - would have been even better with them. Very good base recipe to fiddle around with.

Raspberry Trifle

Ok, this was really great...Made a double batch with fresh strawberries and blueberries soaked for a while in creme de cassis and a sprinkling of sugar, used two containers of mascarpone to one neufchatel and topped with white chocolate shaving. Lovely to look at and delicious, to; a school gathering devoured both of them today. Many happy people!!

I give this 5 stars for being perfect in itself and the perfect jumping off place for experimenting...next time I will at a little grated cheese pressed into the pastry, or a dab of pesto, or an anchovy rolled up....soooo good!

Easy Pork Roast

Absolutely delicious! I used white wine instead of beer and a can of diced tomatoes because that was what I had, and Oh. My. Goodness. Melt in the mouth tender, great and classic flavor combination and excellent, classic technique. This is one of my new go-tos for an easy winter meal. Thank you so much!

Sour Cream Peach Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2008
We thought this was very good. I was a little concerned that the cream mix wouldn't set so I added an egg; I also added a sprinkling of cinnamon to the peaches. Don't forget to watch the pie like a hawk once it's under the broiler! One nanosecond separates caramel glory from burnt disaster!
