I'm a grad student working towards a M.A. in History, with two small boys and a husband whose working on his PhD in Biochemistry. Life is fairly hectic...to say the least. I love casseroles because with our schedule, they fit in perfectly. I also love baking, especially cookies. Every Christmas I make at least 9 different kinds of cookies and bring them to work to share with my co-workers or give them as presents to friends. Every family get together, my mother always made broccoli casserole. With its breadcrumb crust and broccoli/cheese filling, we all loved it. It was the first dish I ever made for my husband. Teaching my cooking-inept husband how to make beef stew. It was a great accomplishment...for both of us. Before he met me, he couldn't make a grilled cheese sandwich or even Hamburger Helper. Now his meatloaf is even better than my own. I once made this scallop/tomato pasta dish and for some reason it turned out awful. I don't know what went wrong but it was horrible. Something I will never attempt again.
