About this Cook
I've been cooking since I was a teenager. I did it professionally for a while. Now days, it's my creative outlet. I love to cook, but hate it when it starts to feel like a chore. I am inclined to always use fresh, natural and organic ingredients whenever possible. I always try to support local and sustainable farming. Not only is it better for you and the earth, but it just tastes better. And isn't that what a chef is going for anyway? I owe most of my kitchen know-how to my old boss, Jennifer. She taught me all the basics. Without her, I would be doomed to always following a recipe step-by-step. My sister is my inspiration. Shes more than a chef. She's an artist in the kitchen. She's absolutely amazing(although very messy), and gives me something to strive for.
My favorite things to cook
Everything. Anything. Something new. Whatever, as long as the people I'm cooking it for love it!
My favorite family cooking traditions
None. We didn't really have any. My mom was not much of a cook herself. She hated being in the kitchen. Now days, my sister and I are the chefs of the family, and I'm sure that over the years to come, we'll manage to start a few traditions for our kids to carry on.

Vanilla Pumpkin Pie
Perfect!! But with a few changes... I used condensed milk instead of evaporated, because I like thick, creamy pumpkin pie, and I used fresh pumpkin instead of canned. I followed others advice and increased the vanilla, added some nutmeg, and replaced a third of the white sugar with brown. It turned out great, and is my new favorite pumpkin pie recipe! Thanks a lot!

Apricot-Glaze Chicken
Good, and easy marinade that would also go well over shrimp, or maybe even ham? Easy to make, not too sweet, I'll hang on to this recipe.

Easy Corn Chowder II
Loved it! I've been looking for a recipe that rivaled the corn chowder they used to serve at a local resturaunt, and this is it. So eay to make, I also used canned potatos so could skip that step. I just threw everything together in one big pot and let it simmer for a while. The only thing I added was a little bit of garlic, and about a cup of sharp cheddar cheese right before I took it off the stove. My fiance loved it. I loved it. I will definately be making this one again, and often. Thanks so much for an awesome recipe!
