About this Cook
I'll try to make this short and sweet. I grew up on a dairy farm in a small town. Did the whole 4-H, FFA thing. Played trumpet on into college. Graduate with a Scandinavian Studies and English Lit major. I am currently persuing a career in dental hygiene and just got married in May of 2006.
My favorite things to cook
I love easy, hearty meals like hotdishes and stir fry. I seem to make a lot of meat and potato dishes as that is all my husband seems to like. However, I have slowly been expanding his taste buds. Some of my favorite recipies include Simple Minestrone soup, Chicken Enchiladas, Citrus Whole Roasted Chicken, SPiced Turkey Burgers, Meatloaf.......
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas I have a few family members over for brunch. Usually it is either my mom or my dad, along w/ my brother and his girlfriend and sometimes my grandparents. I always make some sort of scrambled eggs and a fun kind of french toast such as banana or pumpkin french toast. And also maybe some bacon or sausage.
My cooking triumphs
I was a proud momma the day I made a caramelized apple tartlet in my cast iron pan. It was even a Martha Stuart recipe! It turned out beautifully and even on the first try. I also made cinnamon rolls from scratch. I was so excited that I took a picutre. lol Ok, that's a little dorky.
My cooking tragedies
Hmmm....I burn alot of pizza. My husband teases me because I can make a big snazzy dinner, but I almost always burn pizza! I once accidentally left out a crucial ingredient in some bars and man were they nasty tasting! So far, nothing has caught on fire. :)

Mushroom Saute
I am a mushroom freak so I couldn't wait to try this...it was ok. It seemed as though it was missing something. It was a very mild flavor, probably would be really good with the right fish. If you're looking for something more bold this isn't the right choice. If I make them again I would probably add garlic or I saw that one reviewer used some lemon juice, that would be a nice addition.

Shudderuppers
I tried these with both the caramel and rollos as someone else suggested at a recent family camp excursion. It takes a bit of perfecting to get it just right, but they were good. I don't suggest it for small children, it's way too messy and fussy for them. The other adults liked them. It was fun to try something different, however, for simplicity reasons, I'll probably stick to the old fashion mallow smores.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins
YUMMMY! Like some of the others I also substitued buttermilk for regular milk. And brown or white sugar, either way the topping was good. I don't know how a person could end up with too much topping, mine came out just right. I have been looking for a tasty, no-fuss recipe for blueberry muffins and I finally found it! Thanks!
