About this Cook
We are HUGE hockey fans. My husband is president of the Wichita Thunder booster club, and I'm chairman of our fund raising booth. I love to cook. My close friends affectionately refer to me as "BFC" Betty *fill in the blank* Crocker
My favorite things to cook
I like to try a variety of different recipes, but we really like mexican and pasta.
My cooking triumphs
Love to send goodies on bus trips with our hockey boys!
My cooking tragedies
First Thanksgiving dinner I cooked for my in-laws, I didn't realize the turkey had the giblet package stuck inside. Before husband and I were married....no kids, and could pack up and take off with only a few minutes notice...we did just that. I'd fixed chicken and rice in the crock pot. We'd finished eating, but hadn't cleaned up yet. We got invited to go someplace for a few days, so we packed a bag and took off. We came home 3 or 4 days later to this HORRIBLE smell. We had remembered to turn off the AC to save on the electric bill, but left the crock pot sitting out. To this day, we both cringe at the thought of chicken and rice.

Perfect Turkey
Just a quick tip on how to brine a turkey, especially when your fridge is full of other holiday goodies! Ive done it this way for a few years now, and it works great. Instead of soaking in the stock pot overnight, I put the turkey & brine mixture in a oven bag, squeeze out the air, and tie it shut. Put the bagged turkey in a cooler with ice overnight.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork
Where has this recipe been all my life??? I used a 5# pork butt, sprinkled with some onion & garlic powder, & cayenne pepper. It was AMAZING!

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches
AMAZING! I served it in a sun-dried tomato wrap with provolone cheese, a handful of shredded lettuce, and a drizzle of blue cheese dressing.
