Yesterday we had a bunch of friends over for one last summer hurrah. We have such a wonderful backyard for kids. In fact, all 11 kids ages 4-12 played kick the can as did a few of the adults too. What a fun night. Our cookout was blessed with so many wonderful foods! I made venison beans that… MORE

About this Cook
I am a SAHM and wife - although I am not at home much. I try to serve the Lord thru my daily actions, yet every day is a challenge and a gift.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking quick and easy meals that are healthy. The trick is getting my kids to try them.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love Thanksgiving and Christmas cooking with my mom. We are of Polish heritage and at Christmas time I look forward to making kruschiki with my mom and kids. I always overdo it with the powdered sugar - but it's better that way :) I love the whole tradition of Thanksgiving and dearly miss having my dad carve the turkey.
My cooking triumphs
Every cooking experience is a triumph when at least one person really likes it.
My cooking tragedies
too many to count.

Baked Spaghetti
I love baked spaghetti! I added a cup of frozen corn to the meat mixture. Other than that - YUMMO! My son even had 2nds and he never has 2nds unless it's pizza or something.

Chinese Broccoli Slaw
I love this recipe!! The only change I made was that I just melted the butter in a pan and added the noodles and seeds. It's much faster than doing the whole oven baking. Just cook them in the butter until golden brown.

Shepherd's Pie VI
I multiplied this recipe to feed 80 people for our Wednesday night church supper. I go so many compliments on this! I added the 1/4 cup Worchestershire sauce and a little more ketchup than called for. Since I was doing this for so many people, I used instant potatoes, but doctored them up with some sour cream and stirred the cheese into the potatoes as well as topping them with it. I added frozen peas and carrot and frozen corn to the meat. Wow I am so making this again! YUMMO!
