About this Cook
I live in Mobile Alabama with my husband, three great danes, toy poodle, two cats, and two horses. We love animals, couldn't tell could ya? I run my own business in which I have eight employees, we clean crime and accident scenes. I have been in business for 5 years and counting, I love it. We don't have two legged children but we have enough on our plates for now.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make hearty meals for my hubby. He is not picky thank goodness and he is my guinea pig on my new recipes. If he says "you can make this again" that means he loved it. He is honest..... I'll give him that, he tells me when something is just no good.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandma is typical old south, vegetables, meat, and bread, in that order. She still plants a garden every year.
My cooking triumphs
I mastered the art of making jelly and jams a couple of years ago and love it. I have ventured out in cooking the last 6 or 7 years to try different techniques, and have really enjoyed learning different ways to do things.
My cooking tragedies
I have always loved fudge, decided to give it a shot, well the first year I tried it, I got a recipe off the back of a box of confectioners sugar, turned out great. The next year, same box, same pot, same spoon, fudge failed, 6 times!!!!!!! I haven't tried it again, I couldn't believe it, I still can't believe it, I still shake my head wondering what the heck? I was defeated........ by fudge. :)

Cranberry Orange Cookies
Made them for a cookie swap, what a fab cookie, didn't need the glaze, why mess with a good thing. Hubby loved them, wouldn't stay out of the batter or the cookies. I added about a tsp more of oj and a little more orange zest as I like the bold flavor, turned out perfect! Made 16 dozen of these little pieces of heaven...... what a breeze!

Chicken Spaghetti III
Too Cheesy for me, that is all I could taste was the processed cheese. Maybe try to cut the cheese in half and add another can of cream of mushroom soup and more tomatoes... not sure, just tasted like cheese to me, hubby liked it and said I could make that again if I wanted to, Which means he loved it... figures.

Chocolate-Covered Cherry Cookies
I make this every year, I use them at a cookie exchange and they are requested every single year. The recipe doesn't make much so have two pans ready to alternate. I love these cookies so much I find myself wanting them even in the summer. I have yet to find one person that doesn't like them. A fellow cookie exchange participant froze some last year and said they were great even after freezing. I do ad a little parafin wax to the topping to make the chocolate harder so I can put them in containers to share without them getting messed up, they are just as good! Wonderful cookie!
