About this Cook
Born in California, moved to Arkansas when I was 13 and have called this home ever since. I love the country life but live in the city, love horses, camping, fishing (especially trout). Firm believer in if you aren't going to eat it don't kill it. Not afraid to try most any style of cooking and love to grow not only my own veggies but herbs as well. Mother of 3, grandmother of 5 soon to be 6. Grandchildren are God's gift to parents suffering from empty nest syndrome, lol.
My favorite things to cook
Enchiladas, anything with chicken or seafood. Spaghetti and Eggplant parmigiana are my specialties. I am always looking for new ways to season and cook veggies, especially on the grill.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Being the oddball of the family, meaning I was the only one not born in Arkansas, I still have deep southern roots thanks to my father and all he taught me about southern cooking and gardening. Chocolate gravy and biscuits on Sunday morning is a treat everyone must try at least once.
My cooking triumphs
I don't think I have one yet, I am still always experimenting but I guess if I had to name one thing it would be my mastery of the Thanksgiving Day Turkey and cornbread dressing. Thank you dad for all your cooking secrets!
My cooking tragedies
I tried a recipe for baked pork chops that was horrible, so bad that none of us could eat it, not even the dog and that is pretty bad.

Slow Cooker Swiss Steak
This is very good, didn't change anything but have one question or should I say comment. I am not understanding why this is called swiss steak when this is much the same as my own recipe for beef stew. Swiss steak that I make is done with flour, without the veggies, with meat and done in a skillet on top of the stove with a thick and hearty gravy. I'm confused
