I'm all about keeping it simple, even in the kitchen. I have kids and a boyfriend who always want to eat NOW. So, some of the more detailed and longer cooking recipies have made it into my book, but not to my table. (Not yet anyway!) I like making stuff that is easy and has a lot of flavor!! As long as I have the ingredients on hand i'm willing to try just about anything! My mom was a southern cook and her food was always delicious! My dad makes homemade pierogie and they are very good too, just messy! I was happy the first time I made a rue that turned out perfect. It's harder than it sounds. Patience is a virtue with cooking, something i'm learning more about every day. Probably when I burned fishsticks. But that wasn't really my cooking, I just forgot about them! Needless to say, I don't make fishsticks much anymore.
