About this Cook
I am a mother of 2 (soon to be three) and I love cooking for my family. I enjoy gardening but cooking is by far my most favorite hobby!
My favorite things to cook
I love making pasta dishes, mexican meals and soups. Recently I have started canning jams and will soon be canning soups. I love baking cheese cake, muffins, and cookies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas I make chocolate fudge wreaths for friends and family. On birthdays, I always bake each family member's favorite dessert and let them choose the menu for their birthday dinner.
My cooking triumphs
I hosted a family gathering for Christmas 2 years ago and spent days preparing cheesecake tarts, cream puffs, turkey and all the trimmings (just to name a few), all while I was 6 months pregnant. The desserts turned out beautifully, I especially remember the cheesecake topped with rasberry sauce. Delicious!
My cooking tragedies
My first two years of cooking were very experimental. I remember burning a roast to a crisp. I ruined I don't know how many dinners. Luckily my husband was very understand during that time period. Now he's totally spoiled to gourmet cooking : )

E-Z Drop Biscuits
Great taste. However, they fall apart easily, otherwise a quick and easy recipe!

Orange and Lentil Soup
I was looking for a way to incorporate lentils into my family's diet- and I found it. This recipe is awesome as is, I wouldn't change a thing. I used fresh-squeezed orange juice, I just love the nice twist the orange juice adds to the flavor. This is a keeper!

Molasses Sugar Cookies
Amazing!! Here's what worked for me: I replaced the shortening with butter, and decreased it to 1/2 cup, then added 6 Tbs of ground flax seed to compensate. They browned a bit quicker and were the perfect texture, crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. You could top with a pecan half for a perfect touch!
