About this Cook
I am a stay at home mom who adores cooking for my husband and two beautiful daughters.
My favorite things to cook
Anything new and unusual. I love cooking highly aromatic foods, my absolute fave is Indian cuisine. I also enjoy cooking fun looking treats for my kids, especially healthy ones that get them excited about eating nutritious things. I am a vegetarian so I am always trying out new meat free dishes to attempt to find something I and my meat eating family can all enjoy (which can be a challenge). I guess since I am from the South I also really enjoy making anything BBQ related (much to my husbands delight!)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Dressing up and making finger foods dinners (with some pink sweet treats) for my daughters so that we can have formal "tea party" themed dinners.
My cooking triumphs
Making pie crust and homemade breads. I spent years afraid of both!
My cooking tragedies
Making pretzels (my first homemade bread experience at 14) and not letting them rise. Needless to say we had pretzel shaped bricks!

Freezer Caramel Drizzle Pie
OH.MY.GOD. So good (!), and decadent tasting. Only thing I added was a drizzle of hot fudge and a 1/2 c. of chocolate chips. My family devoured this pie!

Five-Cup Fruit Salad
Made this, except swapped the sour cream for vanilla greek yogurt, and added walnuts & nectarines and it was awesome. Creamy, tangy, and sweet. Would make an excellent healthy breakfast with the yogurt swap (and maybe minus the marshmallows...)

Mall Pretzels
Great recipe, made them for a halloween party so I shaped them into "pretzel bones" (essetially pretzel sticks with curled ends) and they were a hit. I had no issues with the dough, it shaped out lovely and tasted divine! Thanks for the recipe!
