Giant Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
This recipe is short 1/2 cup flour. it should call for exactly 1-1/2 cups of flour. otherwise way to FLAT. Also, add another 1/4 cup of white sugar, add 1/2 t salt, omit the nuts (nuts are so gross), and finally use Crisco instead of the butter. Make these changes, and you'll have a 5 star recipe

Original Nestle® Toll House® Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
This is a 5 star recipe only if you like SUPER FLAT cookies. I dont like flat cookies so i'd only give this recipe 1 star. If your like me and you like puffy, chewy, fat cookies.. this is what you need to do... add 3/4 cup flour (so it'll be 3 level cups total.) Use butter-flavored crisco instead of butter and use baking powder instead of baking soda!! One more thing Omit the nuts. Theyre gross in chocolate chip cookies. Either just use all chocolate chips or all m&m's. for pictures, check out my blog anickh.blogspot.com

Beef Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2009
I make Mexican food all the time. These to me would be only good if 1. you fried the tortillas first before filling them and the 2. you dipped the fried (not-yet-filled) tortillas in enchilada sauce front and back, then after that lay them in the casserole dish and begin to fill w/ the meat, cheese, and onions

Cream Corn Like No Other

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2009
As written, only 3 stars. With my changes its a 5. I did the recipe just as stated but ended up doubling the corn, salt, flour, and cheese. So 20 oz corn, 2 teaspooons salt, 4 Tablesoons of flour, and 1/2 cup parm cheese. All the others ingredents I just left as writen.. (If you dont do these changes, its more like a runny corn soup than it is cream corn)

Urban Legend Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2009
I made this pretty much as stated except added reeses mini baking bits. i also added 1/2 c extra flour and im glad i did. They turned out great. Soft chewy amd thick. Next time I might just blend half the oats or just grind all of them half-way so I can get more of a oaty texture.

Peanut Butter Sheet Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2009
Used creamy peanut butter not crunchy, used 1 cup milk instead of 1 cup water. replaced oil with butter (i never use oil!) doubled the frosting. The frosting is what makes this, its so good. Next time I make this, I'm going to put the frosting on after the cake has cooled.

Seven Layer Taco Dip

Reviewed: May 16, 2009
I make this all the time but I make it a little different. I mix the cream cheese w/ 2 Tablespoons taco seasoning mix and make that my first layer. Then I add 1 cup of guacamole mixed with rest of taco seasoning mix and make that my second layer. Then instead of refried beans I use canned bean dip. But as for everything else I do the same as whats printed on this recipe.

Chocolate Cream Pie II

Reviewed: May 14, 2009
Crazy Good. My favorite chocolate cream pie is from the Lion House and this was the closest to it. I only gave it 4 stars because I changed it up just a bit. I followed other reviewers advise and used 4 yolks instead of 3. I used 2 cups milk and 1 cup cream instead of 3 cups of milk. I also used 4 heaping Tablespoons cornstarch instead of 3. Other than that I didnt change anything else. I did make my own crust (a regular basic pie crust recipe using butter. I almost doubled the ingredients for the crust because I like my crust extra thick)

Amish Bread

Reviewed: May 3, 2009
Atee is wrong. 18 T is not 3/4 cup + 2 TBS. 18 T is 1 cup + 2 TBS. Anyway, this the the best white bread recipe. Its the only one I'll ever use for now on. Bread flour really helps this bread to rise a lot. Only changes I made is I used warm milk instead of water and butter instead of oil.

Deep Fried Oreos®

I used butter instead of oil for the pancake batter mixture. Its better to fry these longer on a low temp than short on a super high temp. And they taste good right after made but not after several hours.

Daniel's Favorite Cheesecake

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2009
This recipe is a 5 star with or without my changes. However I still wanted to change it up and I loved it the way I made it. I used 2 scant cups powdered sugar instead of the 3/4 cup granulated sugar. 1/4 cup egg product instead of the egg. Cream instead of milk and a shortbread crust instead of a graham cracker crust. Shortbread crust works well with this cheesecake because its a denser cheesecake due to the flour. Its a nice change from a more typical creamcheese/sour cream cheesecak. its very original due to the addition of flour but still very very good!

Crab Quiche II

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2009
I promise this is the best crab quiche recipe ever made. you can use 1/2 cup egg product instead of the 2 eggs. I used cream instead of milk for a richer flavor. After mixing everything together I added 3 T dried onion, 1 T flour, 1 t garlic powder, 1 t old bay, and 1 t hot sauce. My parents died over it. I made crab cakes the night before and they said they liked this so much better.

Ron's Bread Machine White

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2009
Cool recipe. The addition of the egg makes this recipe unique and extra awesome. I like my bread rich and buttery so I made a few changes. Instead of water i used warm milk. Instead of 1 egg I used 1/4 c egg product. instead of 1 T white sugar, I used 1/4 cup confectioners sugar. Instead of 2 T oil, I used 1/4 cup butter. Everything else I left basically the same: 3 cups flour, 1 1/2 t salt, 1 1/4 t yeast but then added an extra 1/4 t yeast. I let the yeast sit in the warm milk for about 5 minutes then mixed everything together in the bread maker! Pulled it out about 10 minutes early cuz I like my bread my chewy soft and underbaked. My family loved the flavor and texture of this bread. Ive made bread-maker-bread lots of times and my mom said this time was the best Ive ever made it.

Strawberry Pie II

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2009
I used "Shorbread Crust" from this site and then followed this recipe as stated except for these following changes: I used 4 cups strawberries total. 1 cup uncooked on the base and 3 cups as part of the sauce mixture. I didnt have 1 cup granulated sugar so I used 2 cups powdered sugar instead (which maybe helped better solidify the sauce since powdered sugar is more thick and pasty when mixed w/ liquid.) Instead of 3/4 c water I used 3/4 c grape juce (I personality just like lots of flavor). And then just to note, 3 Tablespoons of cornstarch is perfect. This was so good Usually I make "Strawberry Glazed Pie" but didnt have jello so made this one instead and I'm glad I did. Both are super good though.

Cheesy Sausage Zucchini Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2009
This is really really good. I changed just a few things. I used 1/2 cup chopped onion instead of 1/4. I used seasoned italian sausage instead of just plain sausage. I never added the rice. Just cooked the rice seperate and used the sausage mixture as a topping for the rice. I springled the sausage mixture w/ garlic salt and flakes in addition to the salt and pepper and then baked in a 9x13 as stated then sprinkled it w/ a full bag of shredded cheddar cheese and only baked for about 30 min since everythings already cooked. Several people have said to leave out the processed cheese which I think is not a good idea. The processed cheese helps solidify the mixture and 8oz is such a small amount to even make a dent in taste, if anything just makes it a little cheesier thicker and better. Next time I might even add 4oz more of the prossed cheese. And then I might just take the whole sausage mixture and mix it w/ spaghetti sauce and serve it over noodles instead of rice. Anyway great idea for a recipe. Uses my 3 favorite vegetables and I love sausage so thats why I made this!
