MY FIRST THANKSGIVING DINNER AWAY FROM HOME!!!
The Hubby and I (the cook)
About this Cook
Well, as of now (Dec. 2006) I'm only 20 years old and I'm just learning how to cook. I've moved out twice, but only ate frozen foods. I'm married now and live in England with my husband who is in the United States Air Force. He too only ate frozen foods (chicken nuggets) and that's why I learned how to cook. A little bit of my mom's expertise and a few recipes from this site and now I'm as good as golden. I love cooking!
My favorite things to cook
Anything. I like to get my hands in things so if I have a lot of ingredients to cut up or to sautee I really like that. I like healthy food, but we all know unhealthy food is so much more pleasing to our tastebuds. I love pasta, pizza, and potatoes! I am definately a carb lover.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love cooking with friends and family. I love Thanksgiving because it's such a huge meal and everyone gets to put something in. I miss sitting in my mom's kitchen and smelling her good cooking. My mom is the best cook that was never put on television.
My cooking triumphs
Haha...any meal that turns out good is a cooking triumph for me because I'm just learning.
My cooking tragedies
Well, I have a bad habit of cooking meat too long and burning things, but I'm working on that.

Curried Honey Mustard Chicken
This chicken is delicious! My husband and I have this all the time now that we've tried it. I didn't make a single change to this recipe.

Honey Roasted Red Potatoes
My husband picked to make this potato recipe out of all the others listed for roasted potatoes. This was absolutely delicious and we eat it with our dinners quite frequently now. We used baby new potatoes instead of red potatoes and the flavor was still incredible.

Asian Fire Meat
This recipe was delicious but way too salty. I'm not sure how to tweak it to make it better. I had an Asian beef dinner tonight that called for equal parts rice wine and soy sauce. The flavor was good. That is probably what needs to be done here. I will try changing this recipe up on my own and see how it tastes. Thanks for the recipe.
