How To Deal With Annoying People
About this Cook
I started off making mac and cheese out of a box when I was 12. Then moved on to Hamburger Helper. I wanted something better than those things and started teaching myself how to cook. I like to experiment with recipes and make up my own. I also love learning new cooking techniques. Cooking is just fun to me, and I'm actually pretty good at it. My family says I have great judgement in how to flavor and spice things. I hardly ever measure spices according to the recipe. I always just go with what I feel is right.
My favorite things to cook
Pumpkin pie, Pecan pie, Hot wings, Mashed Potatoes, Tacos and Spanish Rice, Pizza cookies, Cakes, cookies, Christmas Fudge, Cupcakes, Muffins. I LOVE to bake. It's so easy to me and I love working with spices, textures, and flavors. But I love cooking too because it gives me a challenge and I can experiment a little more with stronger flavors.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I make fresh pumpkin pie every year for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I cook and puree the pumpkin, I make my own pie crust, and add different spices. Each time my recipe varies a little because I don't exactly measure everything. I came up with the recipe myself and just haven't written it down. It gets better and better each time I make it though. =)
My cooking triumphs
I created a Smores Pizza Cookie that is guaranteed to satisfy a sweet tooth. My pumpkin pies are awesome. =)
My cooking tragedies
I have trouble telling when potatoes and chicken are done. One time I burnt a pot of boiling potatoes that I was going to mash. I was able to fix them though, and they turned out GREAT thankfully. Then another time my family wanted chicken for dinner. Half wanted BBQ flavored, and half wanted hot and spicy. So I fried the hot ones in a skillet and they came out fine, but the BBQ ones I put in the oven and they came out very raw inside. I had put the oven on too low of a temperature and then decided to increase it, but it threw off the cooking time. They were a complete disaster.

Banana Pudding II
Horrible. Did not set up at all. I had to add more cornstarch. The taste was very bland. I added more bananas and some cinnamon and nutmeg. I guess it turned out ok after I fixed it, but it's not worth making again. I'll find a different recipe.

Ground Beef Shepherd's Pie
This is an awful recipe for shepherd's pie. My boyfriend makes his with onion, carrots, cream of mushroom, extra sharp cheddar cheese (he loves extra sharp, but for me it's too strong), and ground beef. He tops it with those pre-made biscuits that have layers (he separates the biscuits into thin pieces and lays them on top to cover the pie). I wonder if I can get him to let me post the recipe on here sometime.

Decorator Frosting I
This is the best frosting I have ever made. I plan to use this many many more times! It's easy to make, tastes wonderful, and you can flavor it with anything! And it's perfect for decorating, like it should be. I had made a Mountain Dew Cake for my boyfriend for his birthday, and wanted a different frosting than the one provided (he doesn't like coconut). I used this for both frosting AND decorating. Instead of using almond extract I used lemon extract so it would blend better with the flavor of the cake. It turned out wonderful!
