About this Cook
I'm a small town girl living in the suburbs of Columbus, OH with my husband & son. I've always loved to cook, but have really grown a passion for it since I've been married. Both my husband & I love to entertain and he loves to cook as much as I do.
My favorite things to cook
I like to make just about anything, but am not as much of an expert on the grill as my husband is. I do my best with soups and tomato-based foods (lasagna, etc.). I have been told that I make a great fresh salsa! I also love to bake, but lately I haven't had the time like I used to.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We love to host Thanksgiving when we can. There's nothing better, or more important, than having all of the family together.
My cooking triumphs
I don't remember any one significant "triumph," but I feel that anytime I cook, and my family or guests tell me that they really liked it, that is a success.
My cooking tragedies
I know that there are probably hundreds, but who wants to admit to any of them? Who want to remember!?!

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III
This is a great recipe for chocolate cake from scratch. I made this and the "Rich Chocolate Frosting" recipe here on allrecipe.com, but using the two together was a little over the top.

Avocado Stuffed Yams
This was one of those "I-can't-believe-that-this-will-taste-good-so-I-have-to-try-it" recipes. But WOW, this was suprisingly good! My husband was extremely skeptical but after trying them, he said he wanted more. I did microwave the yams to save time.

Rich Chocolate Frosting
I loved this recipe! This has an incredibly rich, chocolate taste an reminds me of a chocolate ganache. I used this on a rich chocolate cake (per my usband's birthday cake request) and it was a little too over the top. I would recommend using this on a simpler yellow cake to let the flavor of the frostig stand on its own.
