About this Cook
I have a great husband and two beautiful daughters that are 11 and 3. I am a huge people watcher and sometimes I have to remind myself to observe less and interact more. I love my friends and feel lucky enough to have those few special ones that are irreplaceable. I am horrible at keeping in touch (sorry) and most of the time my friends need to draw me out or motivate me to socialize. lol. I am fiercly loyal and am most likely to stand up for others more than standing up for myself. I love to cook and am always trying new recipes. Some work... and some don't!
My favorite things to cook
I could eat italian pasta dishes every night of the week. I think I may have been italian is a past life. Unfortunately my family doesnt share my pasta passion!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husbands family passed down a greek recipe for Kaplamah through generations. When we got married it was given to me. My MIL doesnt cook it often so when I make it I make sure to make enough to send some home with my FIL. I get such pleasure in being able to make this dish and know that I can pass it to my girls when they grow up.
My cooking triumphs
Every successful dish is a triumph :)
My cooking tragedies
Oh boy....

My Crab Cakes
I only had a 16 oz can of phillips crab meat on hand so I had to change up the recipe a bit. I only used 20 crushed butter crackers, and doubled everything else. Instead of bread crumbs I coated the outside of the crab cakes with crushed corn flake crumbs ans when frying i added a little butter to the oil. These crab cakes turned out nice and crispy on the outside and very very good. My guests tonight raved about them and all asked for the recipe. I served the crab cakes with the sauce that lucy (top reviewer) recommended in her review. THe sauce made these crab cakes awesome! Thanks Lucy!

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili
This is the BEST chili recipe. It gives me restaurant quality results every time. Instead of 2 lbs of hamburger, i use a lb of hamburger and a lb of sausage. Thanks so much for sharing!
