About this Cook
I watched my mother make amazing meal after meal for a family of 8 with an empty cupboard and no fancy tools or gadgets, I call this love food! Today, I cook and bake for my children just like she did I suppose. Each night I anticipate for the silence over our dinner table after I serve a meal I made because I know I made a winner. "It's so good no one wants to talk Mom"...so I cook for silence....

Banana Cream Pie IV
I have never given a two star rating for anything on here and I am sorry to do so. I as well had no luck in getting the pudding mix to set even after reading all suggestions and attempting them. It was soup banana pie. BUT, I did freeze them and the kids ate them anyway! AND, the cinnamon was a really nice addition, so thank you for that. I just purchased more pudding mix and I am going to try this again. Going for four pies as an attempt. I used the electric mixer with and without cold milk and no luck. If you can get this to set, I bet this is a 5 star, for ease, simplicity and taste.

Raisin Pie III
This was my first attempt at pie making and I chose this recipe. I made three in a row with various pastry tweaks and pie pans for quality check! (Plain old aluminum pan worked the best.)Definitely double the base mix, this is necessary. I also reduced the sugar in the last pie and it met my likes very well, I don't like over sweet. I also reduced the raisins by 1/4 cup or more. I also added a cap full of vanilla to the raisin and water pot, I much preferred this taste. I would also recommend to brush an egg wash on the pie before cooking, it looks much better. Be sure to get into the fine little cracks for an even browning. Also put a cookie sheet under pie to catch any messy droppings! Thank you for posting this, as far as taste goes...you can't go wrong with this one. Go ahead and give it a try! Happy baking to you all!
