About this Cook
I never learned to cook. In fact, I really have no idea what I'm doing a kitchen. There are recipes in books with instructions, so I do what it says there. So far, so good.
My favorite things to cook
Edible things that were not once animals, usually.
My cooking triumphs
People typically eat what I cook... and ask for more! Go figure.
My cooking tragedies
One should not attempt to make instant pudding with soy milk.

Leek Potato Mushroom Cheddar Soup
I made this with items found at our local farmers market (leek, golden potato, and huge portabella mushroom cap). I used vegetable broth instead of chicken broth to make it vegetarian. Also, I used a tablespoon of curry powder instead of celery salt, because there's never too much curry, you know? Would also be great with carrots, parsnips, turnips, or others. But be sure to include the mushrooms. Wow. Excellent soup! My only complaint is that it was so good I ate too much too fast and got a tummy ache. Ha.

Beer Battered Fried Vegetables
My husband made this with zucchini. I did not get to try any because he ate it ALL before I got home! I guess it was good.

Whole Grain Healthy Banana Bread
Wow! I really liked this! I used regular sugar, soy milk, the white of one egg, and half the salt, and it still turned out great. It's not a light bread, but very substantial. Nice to bite and wonderful flavor.
