Slow Cooker Tamale Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2009
The only change I made to this was doubling up on the ground beef. In doing that, it was a little dry and I think adding another can of enchilada sauce would have been a good thing. Other than that, it was a nice meal. It's not hot at all which we like, so if you like hot, you'll have to adjust to your tastes. This worked perfectly in a 4 qt oblong slow cooker.

We enjoy this a lot. I like to use the Durkee fried onions (small can) in lieu of the Ritz crackers.

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
This was actually a lifesaver and it turned out quite well, too. I didn't have oven room for everything. I didn't use nearly as much butter and I opted to not put in the mushrooms. Also, I only used 1 can (14.5 oz) of chicken broth. That was plenty! I left it on LOW for approx 5 hours before serving. Was moist enough

Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
This was really good and really easy, too. I wrapped 3 spears with one whole strip of bacon. I baked them at 400 for 20 minutes. I think next time, and there will be, I'll do them at a little lower temp. The tops of the spears were starting to burn. I put them on parchment paper on a cookie sheet which made cleanup pretty easy. Thanks for the recipe!

Made this as recipe said. Wow, is this the easiest! And it was delicious! My hubby was eating it while it was still warm. I hope we have some left for tomorrow! This is my new cranberry sauce recipe! Thanks for posting!!

Hearty Baked Rigatoni

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2009
I'm giving this a 5 but it needs more sauce. It was alright the first night but reheating leftovers left it pretty dry. I'm sure the rigatonis soaked up the sauce overnight. I also had a 15 oz container of ricotta which I used instead of just the cup. This was good but as stated it needs more sauce.

Beef Tips

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
Very good. The cubes I had were quite big so I halved or tripled nearly all of them so they would be bite sized. This turned out very good and the beef was quite tender. Thanks denisef for the post.

We enjoyed this. This would be good if peas were added. It would give it a slight crunch.

German Style Kielbasa

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
This was very good. After 4 apples I quit peeling. I thought that was more than enough and it was. This is a very easy meal. The apples help alot in cutting down the sourness of sauerkraut if you're not a fan of it. Will do this again.

Dump Cake IV

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2009
Such a simple but very good cake to make. I mix the cake mix with the melted butter and then spread that (carefully) on top of the pie filling and pineapple. That way you don't get any dry spots of cake mix. Served warm, served cold, it's good no matter how you serve it.

Bill's Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2009
I have to give this a 5. There is another gravy recipe on this site I actually like better but it doesn't have sausages included with it. This was good. I served it over Miss Betty's Super Quick Dinner Rolls.

Miss Betty's Super Quick Dinner Rolls

Well, I still can't make rolls, no matter how easy. I didn't have self rising so I subbed ingredients as others have indicated. They were good, though. I served them with Bill's Sausage Gravy from this site. I'll try them again.

Easy Cheap and Yummy Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
Can't get any easier than this one! I opted to use a 7x11 instead of the 9x13 and glad I did. I had 1-1/2 pkgs of hot dogs and found it to be plenty. I didn't find the cornbread too dry at all. I did bake it for 35 minutes; next time I'll only bake it for 30 minutes. My hubby really enjoyed this. Will do again!

Tuna Fish Salad

I had never thought of adding garlic powder or lemon juice to my tuna salad; I really enjoyed it! Was a nice change but not drastic. I like to add chopped hard boiled eggs to my tuna so next time I will try that. Thanks for the post.

Macaroni Egg Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
As someone else said 'it wasn't sweet but wasn't too bitter or sour'. This was a nice change to macaroni salad. And it didn't take long to make! I liked, too, that it didn't make a big bowl full when all you wanted was 'just some'. I made this as written and it was very good but I also took someone's idea to add some dill to the leftovers. I really liked that, too.
