About this Cook
I love being a mommy. I have two little kiddos under three...one who loves to eat and try new things and one who would rather go to bed hungry than eat anything at all. I am married to a wonderful man who loves taking care of his family and playing with his babies. I am a physical therapist assistant by trade, but I have put my career on hold until my children reach school age. In the meantime, I go CRAZY staying in the house, so I get us all out as much as possible. I love to tinker with investment property and travel.
My favorite things to cook
I love, love, love to cook Thanksgiving & Christmas dinners and get everything just right. Everyday cooking frustrates me because I run out of recipes in my book and often don't have the time to get new ones and go shopping for new ingredients. I despise making the same old things! The trouble I have with some recipes (mainly from magazines) is that I live in rural West Virginia and finding a lot of the ingredients I need is next to impossible.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking while involving my three-year-old is sooo much fun! Yes, it is time consuming, but he is learning to follow a recipe, measure, use cooking tools, clean up, etc. (Hopefully one day his significant other will thank me!) I am excited to involve my daughter soon too. We make cookies and cupcakes, etc at every opportunity and try to include my one-year-old in that as much as possible. Every tradition I can create is a memory we can hold onto forever.
My cooking triumphs
The Perfect Turkey, Basic desserts, Simple dinners
My cooking tragedies
My mom's loaf bread (unless you consider rocks to be tasty)

Casserole in the Cooker
This recipe was not to my liking. The overall taste was too salty, and upon reheating, it turned to mush.
