About this Cook
I'm married to a wonderful man who is the father of my three beautiful mons....uhm angels! We live in a tiny little west Texas town with ONE stoplight but it's a great place to have a family. I am a substitute teacher and lately a mother earth reincarnate. Looking into more natural ways of life, but yet still willing to throw in some junk food *smile*
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook italian. When my husband and I got remarried in 2005 (I've married him 3 times, don't ask!), we did all the cooking for our reception. Lasagna, salad and bread...we cooked enough for about 75. Then 2 weeks later turned around and cooked the same meal for 125 for the high school coronation. I also love to bake and did cake decorating for awhile until my hands started bothering me from it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love doing the Christmas baking. My kids and I get out all the cookbooks and everyone picks their favorites for what they want me to make as far as the cookies and candies of the season. My wonderful middle child has decided he wants to be a chef when he grows up so we have been cooking more and more together and this warms my heart.
My cooking triumphs
I made some totally cute cream cheese penguins for my daughter's 7th birthday party and I was the coolest mom ever! I think anytime you can get all 3 children to eat and enjoy what you've made for dinner, that's a triumph!
My cooking tragedies
I can't cook rice to save my life. It's really funny because I can cook very complicated dishes, but can't manage to make rice nice and fluffy without scorching the bottom.

Slow Cooker Cranberry Pork
This one was so easy, I was able to make it in our hotel room on vacation!

Hawaiian Banana Nut Bread
These just came out of the oven and are fabulous. I made them into little mini two bite loaves. Didn't add the cherries and used splenda instead of sugar and they came out great!

Three Bean Salad
This was EXACTLY my granny's three bean salad recipe. Thank you so much for sharing it. I took a big bite and instantly was about 8 years old sitting at her dining room table.
