Lemon Meltaways

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
I thought these were pretty good, but not lemony as I had hoped. I didn't have any problems with crumbly texture. If you eat just the cookie w/o the frosting they do taste like the cornstarch, but with the frosting I didn't notice it.

Irish Cream Bundt Cake

I made this recipe using a chocolate cake mix and chocolate pudding. It was delicious! I left off the pecans because they didn't seem to fit the recipe. Will definitely make again.

Christmas Cornflake Wreath Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
Thank you for reminding me of one of my favorite holiday treats. I was so excited to be able to share this recipe with my 6-year old daughter this Christmas. I lined my baking sheets with wax paper and sprayed them with cooking spray and had no issues with them sticking. I used a 16oz bag of large marshmallows that and found that I did have to add about an extra cup of cornflakes to reach the correct texture. I handled the hot mixture and my daughter went behind me and added red M&M's instead of red hots - she doesn't like the red hots. We both loved them and look forward to making them again next year.

Chip Chicken Lollipops

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
I was very surprised that my kids didn't like these. I think that the chips needed to be crushed more, but that wasn't the recipes fault. I used regular potato chips, so if I do try it again it will be with some flavored chips.

Chinese Chicken Fried Rice II

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
This is a very good recipe. I left out the chicken and added carrots and peas to serve with the Asian Lettuce Wraps from this site. My rice was a little pastey, I know that is my fault and not the recipes. Do make sure your rice is cold before stirfrying.

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
We loved these. I could find the bBibb or butter lettuce so I used a red leaf lettuce. I did serve mine with shredded carrot, bean sprouts, and crunchy rice noodles. The dipping sauce is great and I ended up just pouring some on each of my wraps as I made them up.

Shepherd's Pie VI

This is a great basic recipe that can easily be adapted to suit your own tastes. I boiled my carrots and potatoes together and mashed them together omiting the onion and cheese. I browned the ground beef with the onion and some garlic. Followed the rest of the recipe for making the sauce adding slightly more ketchup and some Worchestershire sauce. I added some frozen peas and corn to the meat mix topped with the mashed potato/carrot mix and topped with shredded cheese. Delicious comfort food that the entire family loved.

Horseradish Dipping Sauce

I hate to give this a bad review, but we did not like this very much. I served it with the Herbed Beef Tenderloin from this site. I made it the day before and let it sit in the fridge overnight. The recipe also made a ton even for our Christmas dinner for 8.

Super easy recipe. It is very rich. We enjoyed it, but I thought it tasted too much like chocolate pudding.

Ambibambi you ROCK!! What a great recipe. Even my mushroom hating husband had to agree that they were good. I did sprinkle a little Parmesan cheese on top too. It's a great appy that I will make often.

Chocolate Lovers' Favorite Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
This cake is fabulous. The batter is very thick and I had enough to fill my bundt pan and make 6 cupcakes. I did sub the mini chocolate chips and was glad I did. My cake did fall some, but not enough to get upset about. I definitely suggest mixing the wet ingredients in one both, the dry in a second and then slowly and gently mix just until it is all moistened to help with that problem. It was a wonderful cake that I will definitely make again. My entire family loved it. I topped it with the Satiny Chocolate glaze from this site. OMG!! So good!

Satiny Chocolate Glaze

I put this on the Chocolate Lover's Favorite Cake recipe from this site. It was to die for! I forgot to add the vanilla, but didn't miss it. I had actually planned on adding almond extract to complement the flavor of the cake more. It's a great recipe that I will use often.

Sausage-Stuffed French Loaf

This was a great recipe. I really enjoyed it. I followed it exactly and my only complaint was that the foil caused the bottom of my bread to burn. Maybe my oven temp. is off, but I'll be sure to turn it down a little next time. A side of marina is a great addition.

My husband and I both really enjoyed this recipe. I served along with some burgers and tater tots. The only change was that I used white wine vinegar instead of red because that was what I had on hand. I thought the flavor was better the next day.

Diane's Colcannon

OMG!! This was so good. My husband and I really enjoyed this. After sauteeing the cabbage & onion I threw it in my food processor so that I could sneak it past my kids. My daughter actually ate it without complaining - I did add a little shredded cheddar cheese to hers. I took some of the leftovers and added cheese to it as well and fried up mashed potato pancakes that were out of this world. Thank you for a great recipe. We will definitely be eating this again.

Flavorful Chicken Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2009
These were pretty good. I did use frozen chopped spinach instead of the fresh which I don't think affected the outcome too much, but I do think it would be better with fresh spinach. My husband and I both thought it would be good to add a couple of cloves of garlic to the filling next time. The presentation when sliced is very nice and I will make them again.

Super Bowl Bites

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2009
The taste of these were great! But my bottom buns were soggy and burnt, and I only cooked them for 20minutes. Luckily I only made 4 the first time. With the remaining burgers I fried them in a skillet, nuked the buns for about 10 seconds, and then put the burgers together. I will definitely make them again because I love those famous little White Castle and Krystal burgers, but I'll cook them differently.

Easy Fruit Dip

This is a great dip. I made exactly as stated and decided to add a little more cherry juice to bring out the flavor a little more. I also took some and added a splash of almond extract and I thought that made it even better. I served it with sliced apples and strawberries.
