Nutty Brown Rice Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2009
I made this for a barbeque and it was enjoyed by all. I cheated and used minute brown rice. I did use more dressing than the recipe called for and my husband said he thought it was still a little dry. The little bit I did bring home tasted even better after sitting in the fridge for another day.

Cherry Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2009
I love maraschino cherries and chocolate so how could I resist this recipe. I left out the nuts because my DD doesn't like them and added a splash of vanilla, but other than that follwed the recipe exactly. They weren't overly sweet which I enjoyed. I will make them again.

Dash's Donair

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2009
Although I've never eaten a real donair, I can tell you that if you like gyros you have to try these. The flavor of the meat is exactly the same. My only problem was that my sauce never thickened up, but that's probably my fault. Even my 3 & 6-year-old kids gobbled them up. Thank you for posting this recipe. I'll now be able able to eat one of my favorite foods any time I want.

BBQ Bacon Ranch Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2009
I wasn't sure how the bbq sauce and ranch cream cheese would taste together, but I've seen recommended so many times in the Recipe Exchange that I had to give it a try. I used Sweet Baby Ray's original bbq sauce and served it with corn chips. This is a great dip and I will definitely be making again! Thanks Gina!!

Spaghetti Pie III

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2009
This was a nice change from regular spaghetti. I followed the recipe exactly up to the point of putting it in the casserole dish. I mixed the sour cream/cream cheese layer into the sauce and noodles. Then topped with the shredded cheese. Because everything was hot I only had to cook it long enough to melt the cheese.

Stuffed Zucchini

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2009
This was a good recipe. I cut the recipe in half and used only hot Italian sausage. I omitted the tomato soup and water. I put some of the crushed tomatoes on the bottom of the pan, mixed most of it in with the meat, and poured a little over the top of the stuffed zucchinis. I also added some chopped garlic to the filling. Topped with a shredded Italian cheese blend and it was great.

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2009
Thank you for a great recipe. I know my family will enjoy it often. My somewhat picky DD even loved it. I did double the marinade and put the veggies in one bag and chicken in the other. I boiled the marinade from the veggie bag to serve on the side for dipping and to pour over rice. So good!!

Chip Chicken Lollipops

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2009
I was very surprised that my kids didn't like these. I think that the chips needed to be crushed more, but that wasn't the recipes fault. I used regular potato chips, so if I do try it again it will be with some flavored chips.

Mexican Sour Cream Rice

My husband was very skeptical of this and wrinkled up his nose at it as I was mixing it all together. Then he tasted it and a big smile just spread across his face. It was great and I will definitely be making it again.

This is a great recipe. The only thing that I changed was to replace the regular yellow mustard with some mustard-based bbq sauce because I was all out. These were great and I will definitely make again.

Asian Orange Chicken

Reviewed: May 4, 2009
I made this using beef instead of chicken so I know my review isn't for the true recipe, but the flavor in this sauce is excellent! I marinated bite-sized chunks of a chuck roast for 24hrs plus then breaded it as directed. If I were to do it again I would probably skip that step. Then cooked as directed. I stir fried some onion, red pepper, celery, broccoli, and carrots to toss with the meat and served over rice. I will definitely make again and try it with the chicken.

Slow Cooked Corned Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
I made this for St. Patrick's day and am very glad I did. We didn't make sandwiches, but I will next time. My corned beef was moist, tender, and wonderful. I served this with Dian's Colcanon and used the leftovers to make corned beef hash. YUM!

I made this recipe using a chocolate cake mix and chocolate pudding. It was delicious! I left off the pecans because they didn't seem to fit the recipe. Will definitely make again.

Christmas Cornflake Wreath Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
Thank you for reminding me of one of my favorite holiday treats. I was so excited to be able to share this recipe with my 6-year old daughter this Christmas. I lined my baking sheets with wax paper and sprayed them with cooking spray and had no issues with them sticking. I used a 16oz bag of large marshmallows that and found that I did have to add about an extra cup of cornflakes to reach the correct texture. I handled the hot mixture and my daughter went behind me and added red M&M's instead of red hots - she doesn't like the red hots. We both loved them and look forward to making them again next year.

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
We loved these. I could find the bBibb or butter lettuce so I used a red leaf lettuce. I did serve mine with shredded carrot, bean sprouts, and crunchy rice noodles. The dipping sauce is great and I ended up just pouring some on each of my wraps as I made them up.

Chocolate Lovers' Favorite Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
This cake is fabulous. The batter is very thick and I had enough to fill my bundt pan and make 6 cupcakes. I did sub the mini chocolate chips and was glad I did. My cake did fall some, but not enough to get upset about. I definitely suggest mixing the wet ingredients in one both, the dry in a second and then slowly and gently mix just until it is all moistened to help with that problem. It was a wonderful cake that I will definitely make again. My entire family loved it. I topped it with the Satiny Chocolate glaze from this site. OMG!! So good!
