About this Cook
I'm a stay at home mom. I have a beautiful, blue-eyed, 10 month old baby boy, his name is Jude. I have a wonderful boyfriend, his name is Patrick. Ever since I was a little girl I have always had an interest in cooking. I remember me as a little girl, looking through my mom's big Betty Crocker cook book, and wishing I knew how to read and that I could make something from that book.
My favorite things to cook
Usually, I'm happiest when I'm making something new! Something different is my favorite dish. I tend to get bored rather quickly so I'm always trying different recipes. I guess I would have to say Mexican cooking is one of my faves. I like making chili, I like to experiment with different flavors in it and I have lots of variations on how I make it. I love soups and I enjoy making them too. I also like to find ways to make a rally good recipe more healthy. I really enjoy cooking when I can learn something new, whether it's discovering a different food or learning a new cooking technique. I like cooking many different types of recipes, anything from throwing all the ingredients in the crock pot to gourmet fare.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My sister and I have our own tradition for the holidays. If we are cooking a holiday dinner we don't do the traditional type foods. We like to try something different and it's something that will most likely be on the exotic and even gourmet side.
My cooking triumphs
I make a damn good chili. I have made tomato sauce from scratch; it was a little on the thin side but had a fresh and sweet taste to it.
My cooking tragedies
I gave up on trying to make cake from scratch years ago. For some reason, it would never turn out right. Maybe one day I'll try it again. Until then I'll stick with the cake mixes. ;)

Easy Meatloaf
I don't like meatloaf but I will gladly eat this. I also added 1 tsp. of garlic powder, 1/2 tsp. of chili powder, and 1/4 tsp. of curry. My boyfriend said my meatloaf was divine for the 1st time!! :)
