Some where along the road I lost my passion for cooking so I'm trying to rekindle it using Heidi Swanson as my inspiration (101 cookbooks).
I'm recently married after a five year hiatus (who-da thunk it? Not me). It's been bitter-sweet in the kitchen trying to learn what someone new in my life likes, dislikes and just trying to get back into the flow of things. One thing I have discovered is that my desire to have a husband who cooks wasn't so valid after all. My kitchen is MY domain and my husband does not belong there, especially while I'm cooking (grrr).
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. I enjoy Asian cuisine for the sheer simplicity, use of veggies and the flavors. In all I do I try to make all of my goods healthy.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Hmmm, none really, but now I do make the infamous rolls my mom made for Thanksgiving each year. Now that she's passed, I feel I have to keep the rolls alive even though I don't celebrate the Nov. day commemorating the slaughter of my ancestors at the hands of those who invaded Turtle Island. For me, every day is one to give thanks for all of the bounties bestowed upon us from the Creator :)
My cooking triumphs
Hmm, Jamaican chicken and veggie patties. That was A LOT of work. The awesome peach cobbler recipe I use from this site to which I add my own special twist. That's all I can think of for now.
My cooking tragedies
Hmm, I'm very particular so yeah, I've had many of what I consider tragedies though others like it :)
