About this Cook
I'm a newlywed learning to cook for two instead of four. It's quite different!
My favorite things to cook
Hubby loves chicken and rarely eats any other meat. He doesn't like squashed while I love them! I enjoy using my slow cooker and making soups and casseroles. Hubby is also southern and is starting to request some of his comfort foods from when he was a "youngin'"
My favorite family cooking traditions
Ever winter about a week before Christmas my family holds a progressive dinner. My mom always had after school snacks ready for us even if it was just crackers and cheese cut into shapes.
My cooking triumphs
Fried Chicken!
My cooking tragedies
I once tried to fry chicken with Olive Oil....yeah...I know.

Caramel Pecan Cookies
These are so yummy. My new favorite cookie! Super easy to make and would be great to do if you had a little one who likes to help bake! I used Caramel Hershey's Kisses and they turned out very moist and gooey in the middle. The hardest part was making sure my hubby didn't eat them all before they got to their intended destination.

Swiss Chicken Casserole I
I love this recipe and so does my hubby. I use canned chicken and make my own crumb topping with soda crackers, italian seasoning and butter. Like others said it's also very good with provolone. Since I'm using chicken pieces instead of breast, I just smother it in cheese since that is what we like. Very good and easy!

Magic Cookie Bars I
Just made this tonight and my husband has half the tray gone. I used crushed Vanilla Wafers since I didn't have graham crackers and the flavor was the same. I also used an 9x11 pan and they came out a bit dense but still very delicious. Great easy recipe!
