Sausage Cheese Bites Snack

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2007
I made these for a tailgate party. My husband thought they were the best things ever. I ask for a friend's honest opinion on them and she said they were "ok". I think they are a bit "bready" and that part needs to be cut back on. Also, I think the addition of a spicy sausage would be better. I like them though. Thanks for the recipe!

Southern Grits Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2007
This is sooo yoummy! I just wanted to say to a previous reviewer that you are right when you say this dish is a bit time consumming. But in the south, a lot of times this is a dish that is normally made from leftovers. After a big breakfast of sausage, eggs and grits, and sometimes bacon, all is mixed up together and reheated as a casserole the next day. It is fantastic!

Baked Chicken Reuben

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2007
Wow! This was delicious! I made it exactly as written and it came out perfect. I am one of those people that thinks everything taste better in a crock pot. Not this! This dish is wonderful as is, but the second time I made it I thought I would put it in the crock pot and it was horrid! I wouldn't recommend the crock pot for this dish!

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2007
Thank you Maureen! This meal was way beyond my expectations! My teenage stepson, who thinks the world revolves around pizza and hamburgers, came into my room after eating this and thanked me. With a thumbs up, he said "That was a 5 star"! It was a monumental moment!

Spinach Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2007
I have made his twice, exactly as written and it is a great little side dish. I just wanted to say that I think this dish is just as good even before putting it in the oven. Just take it straight out of the pan onto your plate and sprinkle some cheese on it. Thank you for the recipe!

Sliced Tomatoes with Fresh Herb Dressing

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2007
I made this a few weeks ago and I just thought it was great. Last night I tried it out on my husband and his friend and I thought they would never stop raving about them! Simple recipes like this make a cook like me look like a genius. My husband kept saying "How could you make a tomatoe taste so good"? Thanks for the wonderful recipe!

Spiced Ham Steak

This ham was great. I left out the butter to try and save a bit on calories. I actually tossed some pineapple chunks on top during the last few minutes of cooking. Thanks for a great way to prepare ham!

White Russian

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2007
I guess I will have to tell on myself here! I have gulped down more White Russians in my day than I probably should mention! I think they taste better with a double dose of the Kahlua, and are much tastier when half and half is used in place of milk. And just the other day when I discovered I had ran out of half and half, I topped one off with Irish Cream liqueur. It was the best one I had ever had!

South Carolina Sweet Tea

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2007
I could drink this all day, (and sometimes do!) I have been making tea this way for many, many years. Two cups of sugar is the exact amout you should use, but I understand that that can be a bit sweet for some people. The only thing I do differently than this recipe is that I use 4 tea bags, I like mine a litle darker and stronger. Also, you can do this on the stove top, in the coffee maker, or in those automatic tea makers sold in most stores. That is the way I make mine now. Anyway you make it, it's delicious!

Yummy Garlic Croutons

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2007
I really liked these croutons. I just wanted to say that after making many different versions of croutons in the past, one day I grabbed a pizza cutter and it worked so great to cut the bread in a more uniform fashion.

Mini Ham And Cheese Rolls

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2007
This is wonderful. I made them for a party along with other finger foods. I used real onion, didn't have any poppy seed, but it was still delicious without. I must have drizzled a litle too much butter because the longer they sat, the soggier they got, but people still ate them all!

Smothered Green Beans

My family and I really enjoyed these beans. Pouring out most of the bacon grease is a good idea. You can also add a little butter to these for a little extra taste (and calories)! They were great! Thanks for the recipe!

Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2007
The Ultimate!! Wow..what can I say, I am speechless! I made these exactly as written and they were beyond my expectations. A couple of good hints from other reviewers are adding a little extra garlic if you like, and stirring now and then to prevent browning around the edges. This is going to be on my table during holiday cooking. All hail to the recipe submitter!!!

All American Roast Beef

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2007
My husband was in heaven with every bite of this roast. Along with the salt and pepper, I also added minced garlic, and a bit of beef broth in the bottom of the pan. It was a wee bit tough, but of course I couldn't help but taste it as I was slicing it, and I noticed that after slicing, I put it in a dish, poured the juices over and let it sit, it seemed to get very, very tender. We loved it with horseradish sauce! Thank you for the great recipe!

Zesty Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2007
This is a wonderful dish, especially if you like things spicy, which I do. As spicy as I like things, I went a little overboard on the hot peppers. Not recommended!! It doesn't take much of those hot little flakes to get your juices flowing!

Sauerkraut Hot Dog Topping

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2007
Fast and easy! I made this to go along with our hotdogs at a party. Everyone really enjoyed it. It's a wee bit too sweet for my taste, so next time I make it for myself I am going to cut back on the sugar a bit. Thank you for sharing this with us!!
