I'm currently enlisted in the Navy, don't have many people to share my baking with so I take most things to work with me. The people there don't mind, that's for sure I especially enjoy decorating cakes and have taken all the Wilton courses offered at my local cake decorating supply store, Party Cakes 'n' Things in Virginia Beach. I absolutely love baking -- cookies, cakes, bread, whatever... but I am working towards mastering "cooking" more traditional meals as I am a vegetarian and want to cook for more people. My mom used to make a big batch of pizza dough and let all the kids go to town making pizzas and calzones. We always had so much fun and then got to eat our creations! I made my very first wedding cake recently! It's was three tiers and strawberry cake with cream cheese icing.... weighed about 35 pounds!! I was making an apple pie that has to be baked in a parchment paper covering, well, I ended up getting a paper cut on my cornea from tearing the parchment paper off the box and the corner coming back towards my eye. I know, how did that happen? Only me.
