About this Cook
I'm a proud military wife and a stay-at-home mommy to a toddler. I love cooking, especially baking, and trying out new recipes that are both healthy and homey and that my family will love.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook would have to be breads and cobbler. I just love the way that the enticing aromas fill my home and seeing the beautiful end result.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite family cooking tradition, so far, is making breakfast with my son. He's only two, but he loves to help me stir whatever I'm making, whether it be scrambled eggs or pancakes. We look forward to breakfast every morning!
My cooking triumphs
My cooking triumphs, according to my husband, are chicken fried steaks w/gravy and my smothered pork chops. These are hits everytime I make them.
My cooking tragedies
The first Thanksgiving my husband and I shared together, I made a cranberry salad for a party we went to. Well, the salad never set so it ended up all watery...needless to say, nobody had cranberry salad that Thanksgiving! :(

Mexican Rice III
For the folks that don't like the green bell pepper in the rice, what I do is put it a slice of it in the rice while it cooks and then remove it when the rice is done. This way you still get the essence of the pepper in the rice but not the pepper itself!

Ten Minute Enchilada Sauce
What a truly tasty and easy recipe to make! I followed the recipe exactly, the only difference was I couldn't find the New Mexico chile power (I live in the UK) so I used regular chili powder and it was still delicioso!!! This is the sauce that I will make from now on!!!
